Copyediting Contractor

Position Purpose
The successful candidate will provide production support, specifically in the area of copyediting, to the Manager of Copyediting.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities include reviewing and copyediting content for K–12 science and math curriculum, adhering to the style and standards of the in-house style guide as well as The Chicago Manual of Style, maintaining the project's tracker in Google Sheets, and providing feedback on content issues and most common writing mistakes found in documents.


  1. A Bachelor's degree or higher in English or writing or an alternative writing/editing certification
  2. At least two years of history providing professional editing services
  3. Ability to keep a detailed, focused eye on heavy content
  4. Excellent grammar and usage knowledge
  5. Knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS)
  6. Knowledge and comfortability with working in Google Drive, Slides, Docs, and Sheets
  7. Ability to manage projects and work under strict deadlines without losing focus or quality of work
  8. Completion of an editing test with high accuracy
